Death Pains Or Birth Pains?
Jentezen Franklin shares about a family that went walking in the woods. They came upon a number of mushrooms and decided to pick them and make dinner for their friends.
They had enough mushrooms for soup, salad, and some omelets. After dinner the group gathered in the living room for some games. Eventually the father went into the kitchen to grab a drink. He found the cat on the floor unable to move, barely breathing. Next to the cat was a plate of food, including some of the mushrooms.
He immediately called the veterinarian and described what was going on. He was advised to rush to the hospital, that the group had in fact eaten poisonous mushrooms.
At the hospital, their stomachs were pumped, and they were sent home. Upon arriving at the house, they hesitated to go into the kitchen, afraid to find their dying cat.
Opening the kitchen door, they were elated to find not only their cat, but a litter of kittens. The mushrooms were completely safe, the cat was never sick, she had been in labor.
As Franklin shares, “Have you ever felt like that? What they thought were death pains were birth pains. If you are discouraged and feel as though your dream is dying, don’t give up. It may be you’re just having birth pains, not death pains. It’s always too soon to quit. When you’ve been through hell, what’s five more yards? Keep going.”
